Why I am Taking Into to MASS Communicartion

Why I’m Taking This Class: Merging My Passion for Sports with Media

Hello everyone! My name is David Alexander, and I’m a junior at North Carolina Central University majoring in Mass Communication. As a football player for NCCU and a lifelong sports enthusiast, sports have always been at the core of who I am. Growing up in Rockville, Maryland, and playing for Walter Johnson High School, I learned early on the power of sports to bring people together and inspire communities.

So why am I taking this class? I believe that sports are more than just games—they’re stories waiting to be told. I’m eager to learn how to craft compelling narratives that highlight the dedication, teamwork, and personal journeys behind every athlete. This class offers the perfect opportunity to develop the skills I need to bridge my on-field experiences with the world of media and storytelling.

During this course, I aim to build a multimedia project that showcases the lives of student-athletes both on and off the field. I want to explore how sports influence our identities and impact our communities. By combining my passion for sports with the tools of mass communication, I hope to create content that resonates with others and perhaps even inspires the next generation of athletes.

I’m excited to embark on this journey and can’t wait to see where this class will take me. Looking forward to connecting with all of you and sharing our stories together!
